Kerala, often called "God’s Own Country," is a land where nature thrives in every corner. From the misty mountains of Munnar to the quiet backwaters of Alleppey, the flora here is nothing short of spectacular. Today, I’m sharing a capture of one of my favorite local sights: the vibrant **Turnera ulmifolia**, commonly known as the **Yellow Alder** or **West Indian Jasmine**.
These bright, sun-kissed flowers are a common sight in Kerala’s home gardens and roadsides. With their striking five-petaled yellow blooms and serrated, deep green leaves, they add a touch of golden warmth to the lush tropical landscape.
I captured this shot using my **Sony A6600**, a fantastic companion for nature photography. The camera's autofocus performance helped me nail the detail on the petals, while its color science beautifully rendered the contrast between the vivid yellow and the rich, dark foliage.
